FAQ'S

FAQ’s About Real Estate in Indianapolis and Surrounding Areas:

Q: I’m moving to the area, and I have children. Where are the best communities with great schools?

A: While schooling is a personal preference, the Indianapolis area has a plethora of wonderful schools. Whether a decision is made to take advantage of public or private schooling, its best to do your research. There are a number of online resources, including www.greatschools.org/indiana/ and www.doe.in.gov/.

Q: I want to sell my house soon. What sort of things should I do to prepare my house to sell?

A: First, congratulations on making the decision to move! Contact us for a comprehensive list of updates/repairs to make before listing your property for sale. Generally speaking, we get the most Return on Investment in the kitchen, bathrooms, and master bedroom. Spend time in those areas and try appeal to the most amount of people….not just those that enjoy a specific taste, color, or décor. Make things as neutral, clean, and de-cluttered as possible

Q: I’ve decided I’d like to buy instead of rent. Where do I start?

A: Great choice! If a mortgage is necessary, first start by contacting a lender. Browse our Trusted Vendors for a great lender who can help! Next, is a Buyer Consultation. One of our Experts will analyze your needs and then begin looking for the perfect home for you! Call us today to schedule your free, no obligation Buyer Consultation.

Q : What do I look for when buying a home?

A :Things that Buyers should be looking at when choosing a home to buy include location, neighbors and neighborhoods, proximity to amenities like highway access, restaurants, schools, entertainment, parks, pools, gym, etc. Other things to look at include size and layout of both the lot and the inside of the property (do you prefer a more open concept or separated rooms?), condition of the following: mechanicals, roof, windows, gutters, down spouts, flooring, pipes, electrical, septic and well (if needed), and whether or not Seller has disclosed any known defects. Your real estate professional should be helping you point out all of these items and more, based on the criteria established in the Buyer’s Consultation.
